Class Policies
1. NO FOOD, GUM OR DRINKS ARE ALLOWED IN THE BALLROOMS!
2. PROPER dance attire: Shoes, Leotards and tights/socks, must be worn in order to participate. Loose hair must be secure. Students will receive one warning, on second violation, students will be ask to sit out and observe class.
3. DISCIPLINE in classes will be handled accordingly. Verbal discussion, time out chairs, and withholding of treats will be used first. If this is ineffective, the child will be referred to Ms. Christine. Parents will be notified if discipline becomes a problem.
4. Please be sure all students get water and go to the bathroom before class, as they WILL NOT be allowed out of the ballrooms once classes begin.
5. Be PROMPT FOR CLASS, as frequent tardiness will result in non participation. It's also very distracting to the teacher and rest of the class. If your child must come in late, please make sure they are dressed for class, with the appropriate shoes on BEFORE entering the ballroom. It is a distraction to the class for them to come in and change shoes while the class is in session.
6. Be PROMPT WHEN PICKING UP your child. We try very hard to make sure your child stays inside the building after their class has finished. When the teacher must go on with her next class, your child may be left unattended. Remind your child, should this happen, to always wait inside, and please call when you will be late. Parents who are frequently late to pick up their child could be charged a $5.00 late pick up fee per incident.
7. PAYMENTS are due the first class, the first week of each month. A payment envelope will be handed out the last week of the month and should be returned the following week. These will keep you reminded and informed of your payment history. Remember, any time cash is paid, ALWAYS get a receipt. Make sure your child informs her teacher or the office that cash is inside and a receipt is in order. There is a box on the desk in the office (BAKER) and a Payment slot w/ box on the door (ZACHARY) for the envelopes.
8. Parents who wait in the lobby during class are asked to not bring additional children due to limited space and are expected to keep our lobby as clean as possible.
9. Be sure all SHOES AND BAGS ARE LABELED. Small children should have elastic in their tap shoes instead of ribbon strings.
10. The windows in the office are there for Mrs. Christine and staff to keep and eye on classes. You may occasionally use them to check on your child, but please do not watch class from there. Visitations are set up for that purpose.
